About
1988 Viviana de Gallegos graduated from Art School with a passion for design.
1989 Started working for an Italian fine leathergoods manufacturer, designing handbags and accessories. On one of many trips to Italy, Vivi spent eight months in Florence learning the art of wax carving from a cloistered workshop in the shadow of Il Duomo.
1993 Love at first sight! A random encounter with a bead shop in Paris leads to a fascination for jewellery and stalls at various markets selling her wares.
1994 Back to studies and a degree in Jewellery, Silversmithing and Allied Crafts at Sir John Cass University in London’s East End.
1996 Graduated and spent 6 years working as apprentice to an array of Britain’s finest artist Goldsmiths’ and Silversmiths’.
2002 Vivi set up her London studio and eponymous company and launched a whimsical range of party cake candleholders in sterling silver which, over the years, has developed into a collection of beautifully crafted, precious and lasting silver gifts for special occasions.
2011 Nine years later, the fine-crafted candleholders have become a firm favourite in Britain, gracing the celebration cakes of stars such as Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, Pierce Brosnan and Cheryl Cole.
Viviana’s vivacious nature and Latin American roots come into play when crafting her giftware range. “We love fun and fiestas! It’s a joy to be able to design something that comes out when people are celebrating,” she says.
